Dane Bird-Smith is an Olympian, a gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games and an Oceanian continental record holder.

He’s one of the greats… he is an Australian race walker… and he is also a student at UQ.

Dane’s signature race is the 20 km race walk for which he won a bronze medal in the Rio Olympics in 2016 and a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

Dane isn’t afraid of a challenge, and he’s willing to put in the hard work, often training alongside his two furry friends Luna and Stormi.

Be like Dane.   Get out there. Challenge yourself.  Do something great.
