Family life is hectic, messy, amazing, and if you are a dedicated runner, it can be difficult to fit everything in. But for the ultra-runner, John Pearson, family and running is the perfect combination.
Running has become a big part of their family life and a real highlight for John in the last few months has been being able to share major events like Twilight with his son. But the Pearsons haven’t stopped there. From road running to tracks and trails, John shares with us why he loves running with his kids.
#1. A chance to run WITH my kids…
As with any event, for
me it always a chance to celebrate the art and joy of running and racing with others. These days I spend a lot of time training on my own. Running long and hard sessions alone can get a little isolating. Running with the kids is a totally different experience.
#2. My Kids can get that Race Day BUZZ…..
Come race day, there is that buzz of excitement, runners of all abilities, shapes and sizes, of different ages all coming from backgrounds coming together to challenge themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. They don’t get that running at home.
#3. I get to see them and be a part of their running journey.
Even when the competitive juices cease to inspire me, I am sure the joy of running with the kids and watching them develop will keep my enthusiasm up.
